Durango Fire and Rescue Authority typically hires full time shift personnel from our Reserve Program and Volunteers. General public hiring does occur when deemed necessary by the Chief. All DFRA shift personnel must be at a minimum Colorado FFI and Colorado EMT-B certified.

Durango Fire and Rescue Authority typically hires reserve personnel from our Volunteer Program. General public hiring does occur when deemed necessary by the Chief. All DFRA reserve personnel must be minimally Colorado FFI and Colorado EMT-B certified.

Seasonal Wildland Firefighters are hired during the summer months to assist with local wildland fires. Seasonal's are deployed as resources for regional and national wildfire incidents. 

Single resources are temporary contract employees hired to participate as members in National Interagency Incident Management Teams.
